Arena 35 - Home for a lover of the light
This apartment overlooks the Darsena Naviglio river in Milan, where the sunlight and the night-lights of the many pubs and restaurants of this animated neighborhood create amazing colorful reflections in the water. The young lady who owns the apartment moved from a seaside town for work-purpose, therefore she decided to continue living nearby the water in this luminous area. The main intervention here is the replacement of the regular internal wall standing between the bedroom and the living-room with a semi-transparent wall made of glass panels, that allows the diffusion of daylight in both the rooms. This element provides the house with fresh morning air from the east side and warm sunset light from the west, and it creates a spectrum of bright light reflections through the ambient. Furniture and floorings have been realized with neutral colors and basic materials to enhance the chromatic effects of the outer natural light.
